Eastern Sierra Transit Authority will be operating the following schedule for the Christmas Holiday.Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24th

  • Lone Pine Dial-A-Ride will be closed
  • Walker Dial-A-Ride will be Closed
  • Bishop Dial-A-Ride will be operating from 8:00am to 5:30pm
  • 395 Routes and all Town-to-Town Routes will be operating

Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25th

  • All services will be closed except those within the Town of Mammoth Lakes.

Eastern Sierra Transit Authority would like to send a sincere thank you to all our customers and friends for riding with us this past year. 


The Mammoth Express 1:00pm and 6:10pm departing Bishop, 2:05pm and 5:20pm departing Mammoth will not operate due to road closures for high profile vehicles.  The 395 Route departing Reno has been diverted to Hwy 6 and will not be stopping in Walker, Bridgeport, Lee Vining or Mammoth.  


Eastern Sierra Transit will be operating on a reduced schedule on Veteran’s Day, Tuesday, November 11th.The following routes will operate:  

  • 395 Route North to Reno
  • Lone Pine to Bishop 6:15am  
  • Bishop to Lone Pine 1:15pm & 6:30pm  
  • Mammoth to Bishop 7:35am  
  • Bishop to Mammoth 6:10pm
  • Bishop Dial-A-Ride  Limited Service (8:00am – 6:00pm)  Priority will be given to Seniors and Disabled   
  • All Services in the Town of Mammoth

Lakes Basin Ends Sept. 28th

The Lakes Basin Trolley service will wrap up the 2014 summer service on Sunday, September 28th

ESTA Drivers Wedded

Two of ESTA's drivers, Jay Teslaa and Angie Curry were married this past Sunday.  The wedding party was transported in style from the wedding venue at Convict Lake back to the reception in Mammoth aboard an ESTA bus (naturally!).  Congratulations to Jay and Angie!


The Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) is seeking proposals for general contractor services to relocate utilities in the Mammoth Lakes Transit Facility.  This project includes the extension of electrical, water and propane utilities from existing locations within the transit facility to the east interior wall and installation of a vent to prepare for the installation of a power washing system.  Proposals are due September 17, 2014, 4:00pm.  RFP for Mammoth Transit Facility Utility Project   ADDENDUM #1


On Monday, September 1st, Red's Meadow Shuttle, and transit within the Town of Mammoth Lakes will be in operation.  All other services including 395 Routes, town to town routes, Bishop, Lone Pine and Walker area servces wlll be closed.


Eastern Sierra Transit Authority’s Nite Rider Service in Bishop, Red’s Meadow Shuttle and all routes within the Town of Mammoth Lakes will be in operation on Friday, July 4, 2014. 

All other routes will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day.

ESTA wishes all of our customers a happy and safe 4th of July.


AEll Eastern Sierra Transit Authority / 395 Route services will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday 26th, except for the service within the Town of Mammoth Lakes.


The purpose of the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Volunteer Driver Pilot Program is to offer non-emergency medical transportation mileage reimbursement services to the transportation disadvantaged community: those persons, who because of physical or mental disability, income status, age, or who for other reasons are unable to transport themselves, or to purchase transportation, and are therefore dependent upon others to obtain access to healthcare.A Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) applicant would be approved if he/she meets the following eligibility requirements.          Eligibility Requirements·         Must be Inyo or Mono County Resident·         Must be receiving medical care from a medical facility·         Cannot make the trip because of financial challenge  or·         The applicant is not able to drive him/herself The rate of reimbursement  being proposed will be equal to or less than the IRS Standard Rate in effect, paid up to the maximum mileage allowed for each month for each individual.  The 2014 IRS reimbursement rate for medical is currently 23.5 cents per mile.  To be eligible for reimbursement, each one-way trip must begin or end in Inyo or Mono County. Please contact Jill Batchelder at 760-872-1901 Ext 11 for more information.
