Mammoth Named #1 Least Polluting Ski Town

Teton Gravity Research, a media company focused on action sports culture, recently named Mammoth Lakes as the Least Polluting Mountain Town based on the average metric tons of carbon pollution produced by each household http://www.tetongravity.com/story/adventure/the-top-10-least-polluting-ski-towns.  Transit and housing were cited as major factors that contributed, either positively or negatively, to a community's carbon footprint.  Mammoth Lakes' extensive transit service, including late night service during the winter season was identified as a postive contributor to the community's environmentally positive rating. Eastern Sierra Transit is pleased to be the operator of public transit services in the Town of Mammoth Lakes and congratulates both the Town and the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area for being important supporters of these services.
