ADA PARATRANSIT ELIGIBILITY
ESTA is a viable alternative for customers with disabilities as all buses are wheelchair accessible, equipped with either low-floor ramps or lifts.
Once on board, priority seating behind the driver is available for customers with disabilities. In addition, securement locations are available for customers who use wheelchairs. NON-DISCRIMINATION- TITLE VI POLICY
In accordance with federal law and Federal Transit Administration policy, the Eastern Sierra Transit Authority is committed to a policy that prohibits discriminatinon on the basis of race, color, nation origin, sex, age, or disability (TITLE VI POLICY )
FARES AND RESERVATIONS
ESTA operates many of its public bus services with the assistance of Federal, State and Local funds, which allows us to keep the fares we charge to a minimum.
Discount Fares are available to riders age 60+, disabled and youth under the age of 16. Children under age 5 ride free when accompanied by a paying adult. Children under age 5 must be accompanied by a paying adult. You may ask for discount at the time of sale. ESTA cannot provide refunds for a discount rate once the sale is complete.
Discounted Passes (10-ride, or 2 week) are available. Passes sent by mail will incur a processing fee of 3.5% or $1.00, whichever is greater.
PLEASE HAVE EXACT CHANGE. CHANGE WILL ONLY BE MADE WITH COUPONS VALID FOR PAYMENT FOR FUTURE TRAVEL ON EASTERN SIERRA TRANSIT -- CREDIT CARDS CANNOT BE PROCESSED ON THE BUS
Tickets and fares are also available at our Bishop and Mammoth Lakes offices. ESTA accepts Visa, Master Card, or Discover for advanced purchase with a minimum charge of $10.
Advance Reservations may be made with a credit card. The full fare will be charged at the time of sale. The reservation can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the time of reservation for a 20% cancellation fee.
Unused Tickets my be submitted for a 50% refund or may be used on the same route within 30 days by making a reservation.
Partially Used Tickets are tickets that were not used to reach a final destination. When a rider opts to disembark at a stop short of a destination, thereby not completing the purchased trip on a one way ticket, no portion of that ticket is refundable.
Late Bus and Missed Connections While ESTA makes every effort to provide on-time service, it does not guarantee its departure and arrival times, which may be affected by any number of factors including weather, traffic, or mechanical problems. ESTA is not liable for expenses incurred as a result of delay.
SEATBELTS Seatbelts are provided on all ESTA vehicles and passengers are encouraged to wear seatbelts while the vehicle is in motion.
PASSENGER BEHAVIOR All ESTA passengers are expected to exhibit appropriate social behavior while on the bus, interacting with the drivers or with other passengers. Behavior that distracts the driver or annoys other passengers is not permitted. This behavior includes but is not limited to:Smoking, Drinking, Eating, Littering, Abusive Language, Loud Music, Vandalism, Spitting and Leaving Seats While Vehicle is in Motion.
Solicitation is not allowed on ESTA vehicles.
DOGS Animals are allowed on ESTA vehicles but they must either be caged or muzzled.
DENYING SERVICE Use of ESTA vehicles can be denied on a one-time basis, for up to six month to any passenger who refused to stop any of the behaviors listed, upon request by the driver. Service can also be denied to any passenger that demonstrates violent or unruly behavior or insists on transporting prohibited items.
Service will be denied to riders who do not present the driver with the required fare.
Transportation or use of any controlled substance on the bus is subject to immediate removal from the bus.
